• Do NOT buy from Brookworth - Terrible quality and worse aftercare We bought a home from Brookworth in August 2020 and have only had problem after problem with the house and the aftercare provided. Initially we decided to go with Brookworth as they marketed themselves as a higher end developer that only focuses on smaller sites meaning they have more time to look after the quality control and the home buyer. THIS IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE. From day 1 we have had issues: Leak from en-suite: It took Brookworth 9 months to fix this. We noticed a leak from one of the en-suite bathrooms not long after we moved in. Due to the location the leak was running down the wall directly above the TV in the living room. We had the “experts” come out 9+ times. Each time we were promised it was sorted but the leak reappeared. We were unable to use this bathroom at all for over 8 months in our brand new home and Brookworth offered no compensation at all. Garden flooding: nearly 2 years on and this problem has NOT been resolved or even worked on. After moving in we noticed very quickly that there was a huge issue with water not draining in the gardens (whole estate) and after investigation it came to light that Brookworth had rushed the gardens (possibly trying to save money) and not dug down deep enough in the clay or provided suitable drainage. This means our garden is unusable and that even after weeks of sun our garden is still boggy/wet and areas have turned in complete mud pits where no grass can grow. We have been promised that this would be rectified but it seems every time we speak to them it’s a different excuse as to why the work cannot be done (ranging from: its been approved but we need to wait for the weather... to the company doing the work is no longer in business and we can’t get any new quotes). Insulation: One of our neighbours highlighted that the insulation was not to code this meant we had to have the ceiling removed, old insulation removed, new insulation installed, ceiling reinstalled, re-plastered and repainted. This affected nearly half the houses on our development. Floor lifting up and warping: we have had several issues regarding flooring not been laid correctly, coming up and even different levels of flooring laid with huge gaps or differences between rooms. Glass/Windows/Doors: lots of scratches and damage to windows and doors, this took nearly a year to resolve as the list of excuses was endless (but also very similar to the ones used for the garden) Cracks and blown tape: cracks, gaps and blown tape in every room in the house. We were promised that Brookworth would come out after 18 months (once the house had settled) to repair. This has still not happened. There are many more problems but this is just you give you an idea of why it’s best to STAY AWAY FROM BROOKWORTH.
