• I booked a table for 6 based on having used the Greyhound over the last two years; but our enjoyment was marred by the following: a wait too long between courses, incorrect food brought to the table, and beef ordered rare came overcooked. When this was pointed out to a woman who appeared to be in charge we were offered a free pudding. When the bill was examined, the pudding had been charged, which was then deducted when pointed out. The waiting staff appeared to be slightly overwhelmed by the whole operation on a busy Sunday lunchtime. We are booked in also for a Christmas dinner when 'things' are expected to have improved.

• Having been regular visitor to the Greyhound in recent years I found that standards have started to drop. Visited on 20th Feb 2012 for lunch. Not overly busy but staff and the manager were overbearingly attentive and to the point of trying to take plates away when the meal had not been finished. One of the staff was arranging her private life on the phone which could be clearly heard. There was no music playing in the background. A strange service where you order your main meal at the bar but the staff take your dessert order while seated but you can keep a tab but then have to go to the bar to pay the final bill. Meal was not hot and undercooked. Coconut Chicken had not been marinated very well and was very bland. Nan Bread was tasteless. Bombay potatoes were sweet and lacked spice. Crème Brule was not set and was sloppy in the middle. Coffee was served in a glass despite having asked for a cup - twice. All in all it was very disappointing and gets 5/10.
