• Saw good reviews of sunday carvery so thought we would try it. Were kept waiting 45 minutes past our booking time because the people occupying our table 'wouldn't leave'. When we were finally seated and went for our food we found the meat chosen was fantastic, the range of veg on offer second to none but 'al dente' didn't come into it. It was almost raw and the whole meal was almost cold. Price wise it was very cheap, but not enjoyable. We went back to the Mallard yesterday and had a lovely HOT meal. A couple of pounds dearer maybe but that did include a starter. Sorry Beckwood but we wont be coming back.

• Mike is a very hospitable landlord. Food is excellent and carvery on thursday and sunday is superb. Curry night followed by quiz on wednesdays
