"The Bartholomew Arms is a friendly traditional village pub in Blakesley, Northamptonshire just north of Towcaster.We provide comfortable accommodation for those out to see the local sights of Towcaster, visiting on business, or spending the day at nearby Silverstone. We have a choice of double rooms and twin rooms complete with en-suite facilities and decorated to a high standard"

• Booked a room in November 2011 for a night during the F1 British Grand Prix the following July - upon phoning 2 weeks before the event, I was told rooms had been double booked and despite having confirmation for the room, my booking was not honoured. The owner blamed the previous manager and said numerous rooms were double booked for many events throughout the year causing him a headache - with little regard for me!! Offered me a double room (rather than a twin) at more money than my original booking - I got the impression he was trying to "make a killing" on bookings during events. Avoid if you want to be assured of a room.
