• March 2017,spent3 days at Chapel St. Leonard, and couldn't get a midday meal in the village where we could take our dog, so gravelled to the Axe, and had a bellybuster of a meal, at very reasonable price. Would highly recommend this pub. Brian & Joyce from Rugby, Warwickshire

• This is our local village pub and restaurant, we love it so much we held a small private wedding reception here. We were given excellent food, service and above all that a fantastic day from a very friendly host and staff. We would recommend the "Axe" to everyone and would like to thank Bob, Richard, Tony and of course Lewis for everything.

• I have had a meal here a couple of times with my family and friends and I must say I could not fault anything. All the staff are extremely friendly and very welcoming, there is even a free mini bus to pick you up and then to take you home. All in all a great village pub with great hosts and fantastic food.

• brilliant night last night 40's night the food was amazing and the company was fantastic thanks go to Robert and Maggie for making us feel at home it was great to meet people who was so friendly a very nice and welcoming pub
