• Despite claiming to have been refurbished, (on various web sites) we were extremely disappointed with our room - room 5. No wardrobe(only a hanging rail), no chest of drawers, no hair drier. dismall outlook from window. Room not clean. Smell of sewage from within the room. We arrived mid afternoon on 28th December 2011 for 1 night. Having been allocated this very poorly appointed room, we assumed that the hotel was full and this was the only room available. It transpired that we were in fact the only residents that evening. We agreed a time for breakfast the next morning. On going down for breakfast at the agreed time, we found all of the room doors locked and the hotel was deserted. The door bell rang and on answering it, we were faced with a delivery of supplies. The delivery man was on his mobile talking to the owner. We asked him if he would inform the owner that there was no staff in the hotel. (In fact my wife and I had been alone in the hotel all night). We were advised that someone "was on their way". A member of staff duly arrived and was most most apologetic. It turned out that this young man had to turn out on his day off as the member of staff who was meant to be on duty hadn't turned up. This young man quickly prepared our breakfast and we were able to leave albit 1 hour late. We are rergular visitors to Peterhead and this was the first time we had stayed at the Albert Hotel and it will certainly be our last.

• Excellent meal, food delicious and plenty of it. Service very good. Made very welcome. Will definitely come here again!

• been afew times never open after 10 30 pm any time i,ve gone. then had to go to station bar
